Using items you discover through Matapihi
Matapihi provides a gateway to the online collections of a number of New Zealand organisations. These online collections are made available for research or study.
To use an item for any other purpose or to order a copy, you need to contact the contributing organisation directly - staff at each organisation can help you with any queries you might have.
The New Zealand Copyright Act 1994 applies to all items you can discover through Matapihi.
Reproducing items
You must seek permission from the contributing organisation if you want to use an item found through Matapihi for any reason other than research or study. Fees may apply, and prices will vary from organisation to organisation.
Examples of other use include:
- putting items on a website or intranet
- publishing in a book, journal or other publication
- using an item in a display, exhibition, live performance or broadcast
- any other public context.
Ordering copies
You need to contact the contributing organisation directly if you want to order a copy of an item. The ordering process and product prices will vary from organisation to organisation.
